williams sisters confess they cannot compete with top 350 ranked men, do you think segregating is justified ?
some people say that EQUALITY should be extended to SPORTS as well and that segregating sports into mens and womens tennis/NBA etc is not equality and portrays women as weaker etc.
BUT, williams sisters confess that they cannot compete with men ranked inside 350. so if men and women tenis is amalgamated there would be no women in the top 350, defeating the purpose of womens sports. they actually tried in unofficial matches and lost badly.
so doesnt that means segregating is justified. the best female players would be ranked 340, 360 etc…. i think that would harm womens sports and discourage women to play.
dont you agree.
if you dont agree then please explain why
Who are the MOST overrated players in tennis?
Mens: Gilles Simon. I think he fails to live up to his Top 8 ranking and struggles to contend in Grand Slams and ATP 1000 events.
Womens: Ana Ivanovic. After her fall from No. 1, she is out of the Top 10 and is upset quite often. She struggles to make the QFs in major events even when she was in the Top 8.
TELL ME WHO YOU THINK AND IF YOU AGREE WITH ME OR NOT. Thanks!
What does the S stand for in ESPN?
Obviously, it doesn’t stand for Sports, like I thought. Instead of showing baseball games during the 4th of July weekend (our national pastime, right?), every time I turned on ESPN or ESPN2, here’s what I saw:
Poker
A Hot Dog Eating Contest (?!?!?)
Golf
Billiards
Tennis (ok, I’ll forgive this one…it’s a real sport, even if I’m not interested)
Do people really watch this stuff? Show me some baseball, please. Heck, I’d even take a minor league game over watching womens’ billiards…
I’m exaggerating, of course, by saying that golf is not a sport. Don’t get too bent out of shape about that one. Billiards, however, is absolutely not a sport. There is strategy, yes, and there is competition, yes. But there is NO athletic ability required. Golf at least requires some degree of athleticism. (or, as Happy Gilmore would say: it requires goofy pants and a fat a$$.) ![]()
women players are alowed to compete in MENS TENNIS, should men players be allowed to compete in WOMENS TENNIS?
like Venus williams competed in mens tennis once as she is against all this gender stereotyping and keeping men and women segregated.
do you think male players should compete in womens tennis also…..
The Only Thing NBC Did Right Thoughout The Fortnight Was Show The Womens & Mens Finals Live. Agree?
Once again, NBC did a horrible job with their broadcast of a major tennis tournament. If I were a sponsor I would be pissed. Who wants to watch a tape delayed match, when the score is already widely known over the internet?
Only thing NBC did right was have McEnroe and Carillo as commentators, and to finally show the Singles Finals Live. Everything else was terrible. Do you agree?
womens tennis???the prize money…….?
after watching wimbledon , the womens of course (men is tommorow) , yeah well after watching the womens , not just the final but many matches , im sorry to say i’ve changed my mind on the prize money , i didnt think (and this is just my opinion) that they really earned it , the men play longer and much better tennis , and i believe it is unfair to the MEN that they should work so hard , so much harder than the women and yet make the same money . i really want hear ur opinions on the subject.

Why doesn’t Eastern Europe or the Soviet countries seem to produce as many good tennis players?
It seems countries like Australia, USA and Great Britain are producing the best tennis players right now with many in the top 20 of the mens and womens ranks.
However, I cant think of a single tennis player inside the worlds top 20 from an eastern european or soviet country.
Any reason women only play the best of 3 sets in tennis?
Has anyone ever lobbied to play a best of 5 like the men? Losing just one set seems so critical in womens because you’re then down to sudden death.
